I've had a fair number of these over the last few years, though I've never actually paid for one and neither would I.
Introduced in 1989, the Robusto enjoyed considerable popularity in the early '90s based predominantly, in my humble opinion, on the name alone.

Not a bad smoke, but hardly exceptional; outclassed by a whole slew of similar cigars, something one shouldn't expect from such a predigious mark.

General Overview:
The Robusto offers everything you'd expect - old-world cedar, perhaps, simply doesn't deliver all that well. I cannot complain about the consistency, that was fine. It's merely lacking on the final delivery.

Afterthought:

Whendiscussing this post with a friend, he came up with an analogy that struck me as pertinent:

The reason why so many people have Robustos in their humidors is because they feel that they should have Robustos in their humidors. Its an expensive cigar and certainly implies wealth. I'd compare it to 'Bling' - the large gold necklace suggests affluence, but very poor taste.
